Roasted Nuts and Seeds

Have you ever gotten the little packet of nuts and seeds they sell at the cashier in Starbucks? Well I have and they’re delicious. One day I read the ingredients and realized I could make a healthier version at home. So here you go – the healthier version of the Starbucks nuts and seeds packet – with even more deliciousness.

As an added bonus, this nut and seed mixture is perfect for an on-the-go snack (or nutrition for your long training run). The salty, spicy, sweetness will keep your taste buds alive if they usually get worn out from maltodextrin-laden sports nutrition and the healthy fats and protein will keep you going strong. If you’re not an athlete yourself (or even if you are), you can package these nuts in a mason jar as a present for your favorite athlete (or just some hungry co-workers). Just don’t forget to let them cool completely before packaging.

Instructions
  1. Preheat oven to 325 degrees. Spray 9"x13" baking sheet with cooking spray or cover with parchment paper.
  2. Mix all ingredients and spread evenly, in a single layer, over baking sheet.
  3. Bake for 30 - 40 minutes or until nuts and seeds are lightly browned
  4. Allow to cool and then transfer to a mason jar. Snack on mixture throughout the day.
